Jai, played by Arjun Rampal, is a wealthy businessman and is quite generous. He visits a school for the deaf, which he is sponsoring, with his friend Anita, played by Isha Koppikar. There he meets the beautiful Tia, played by Aishwarya Rai, who is teacher there. He is besotted by her and keeps finding ways to get close to her. Once she learns of this she tells him that she is already engaged to Raj and loves him a lot. Jai is upset but continues to pursue Tia. Meanwhile after a few months Tia and Raj get married and have a son named Anshu. A heart broken Jai moves on reluctantly.
One night after a drunken furor, Jai drives back home with Anita. He meets with a horrific accident where another car is hit. Turns out Tia and Raj were in the other car. Raj and Anita die on the spot. Tia and Jai survive however she has lost her memory. Doctors advice her to not be given any more mental shocks. A guilt ridden Jai offers to take care of Tia, Anshu and her mother and takes them to South Africa. They tell Tia that Anita was her close friend and Anshu is her son. Anshu is said to be close to her and thus she takes care of him like a mother.
Soon Tia starts to fall in love with Jai but he is unable to come to terms with the past accident and ignores her. Tia is frustrated with the hostile attitude of Jai and confronts him. He tells her the truth and she forgives him. Even though her memory never comes back, she says the accident was her destiny and somebody else would have crashed into her. They eventually get married. The movie is directed by Naresh Malhotra and produced by Shabbir Boxwala and Aditya Rai. The music is composed by Nadeem-Shravan.
