Avinash is a well-respected and highly qualified lecturer in one of the top colleges of the city. He however cannot tolerate indiscipline and reprimands some students for misbehaving. The students in turn don’t take the insult lightly and abduct Avinash’s sister and molest her. He is horrified to hear what his students have done and goes to avenge his sister but he learns that he has been fired from his job and soon he is unable to find employment anywhere else. In a desperation to make money, Avinash then meets Agnihotri and delivers a smuggled bag to him. He however refuses to do any other illegal job.

Unfortunately Avinash’s mother’s condition deteriorates and he is forced to take Agnihotri’s job. Later he falls in love with a dancer named Sonia and so does Agnihotri’s brother, who abducts and molests her. Sonia then commits suicide. He is then arrested and is forced to admit to Sonia’s murder. The film is directed by Mukul Anand and produced by Nitin Manmohan. The music is composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal. The star cast includes Vinod Khanna, Suresh Oberoi, Dimple Kapadia, Shakti Kapoor, Dalip Tahil, Madan Joshi and Leena Dass.
