Vijay Kumar owns a wood yard and is in love with a poor village girl named Shanti. The yard watchman called Rukka was accused of robbery and fired from his job. He doesn’t take this insult lightly and swears revenge. When he comes to know of Shanti and Vijay’s affair, he decides to take this opportunity to inform her brother, who is furious to learn this. He goes to confront Vijay and a fight takes place. Shanti’s brother gets accidentally killed by his own knife and the fingerprints of Vijay are on it. Rukka takes the knife and gives it to Vijay’s mother who rewards him for keeping his mouth closed. She then advices Vijay to leave for Bombay.
Meanwhile Shanti gives birth to their son and names him Shankar. Shankar grows up and starts working for Vijay, not knowing that he is his father. Rukka now starts to create problems for Vijay’s family all over again. The film is directed and produced by K Pappu. The music is composed by Kamal Kant. The screenplay and dialogues are written by Kadar Khan. The star cast includes Amrit Pal,Yunus Perwaiz, Tanuja,Aruna Irani, Alok Nath,Gulshan Grover,Prem Chopra,Shakti Kapoor,Kulbhushan Kharbanda,Raj Babbar, Leena Das and Anita Raaj.
