Sanjay, played by Uday chopra lives in Mumbai and is in love with his school friend Anjali, played by Tulip Joshi. However he has never had the guts to tell her. One day when he out of the blue receives a call from her he is elated but then devastated to know that she is engaged to someone else. He decides to try his best to break the engagement so she expresses her love to him. Sanjay arrives at Anjali’s house with his friend Ria and meets Rohit, played by Jimmy Shergill, her finace. He tries all the tricks to make Anjali dislike Rohit but in vain.
At Anjali’s Mehendi ceremony, Ria decides to tell Anjali the truth that he and Sanjay were just pretending to be lovers but are only friends. Anjali tells her that she has always loved him but he never reciprocated so she moved on. When Ria tells this fact to Sanjay he is shocked and heart broken. On her wedding day Sanjay doesn’t turn up and Anjali leaves with her bridal dress and goes to Sanjay’s house to ask him why he didn’t attend her wedding. He then confesses his love to her and they finally unite.
