In a major development for Farhan Akhtar’s much-awaited action thriller Don 3, actor Vikrant Massey has exited the film.

The Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyaan actor was set to play the main antagonist opposite Ranveer Singh but has now opted out, reportedly due to creative dissatisfaction with the role.

Vikrant Walks Out Of Don 3 Citing Creative Differences

According to sources close to the production, Vikrant found the villainous character emotionally shallow and unconvincing. The role was described as that of a cunning, stylish scamster involved in high-octane combat and action scenes with Ranveer Singh’s Don. Vikrant had even begun preparing for the role with a significant makeover planned but chose to step back at the last moment.

This sudden move has left Farhan Akhtar and the Don 3 team scrambling to find a suitable replacement. Insiders reveal that actors like Vijay Deverakonda and Aditya Roy Kapur have been approached for the role, though no official confirmation has been made. The casting uncertainty has sparked wide speculation within the industry.

A member of the production said, 'There is no doubt that Vikrant would have brought great intensity to the part. But we are confident that another actor of his caliber will step in and bring this character to life.'

Don 3 loses Its Villain, Vijay Or Aditya May Step In

Don 3 has already faced casting troubles earlier when Kiara Advani had to step down due to her pregnancy. Kriti Sanon was later brought in to fill the lead female role. With filming scheduled to begin in January 2026, the pressure is mounting on the team to lock the final cast.

As the search for Don’s newest enemy continues, fans await news of who will take on the challenge of playing the franchise’s next big villain.
