Jugal Hansraj all set to return to the world of Masoom: The Next Generation Masoom marks an emotional reunion of Jugal Hansraj with filmmaker Shekhar Kapur after four decades.  In 1983, Jugal Hansraj made a memorable debut as a child artist. The upcoming spiritual sequel of Masoom will also bring back his legendary co-stars Naseeruddin Shah and Shabana Azmi. With a special connection between the original film and the sequel. 


Shekhar Kapur is looking into more than just the casting decision.  


The filmmaker described the reunion as an emotional homecoming. Seeing Jugal Hansraj as a handsome young lad now, he recalls the young boy who became an integral part of Masoom. Kapoor welcomed the much-accomplished actor says, watching him is emotional and deeply fulfilling. Adding to it he stated that reunited him with Naseeruddin Shah and Shabana Azmi showed how certain relationships play an important role in one’s life. 


Jugal Hansraj in the meanwhile is excited that the filmmakers have approached him for the sequel and appreciates for his enduring association he has had with the film Masoom.   The actor said the film has remained a part of his identity in his career and it’s been over 40 years that he is still remembered as the Masoom boy and continues to receive the love and affection from the audience and the film industry. 


Jugal also stated that till date he is stopped by people who convey to him that their children and grand children resonate with the iconic song, “Lakdi Ki Kathi’ and remember him often.   This proves that Masoom has continued to live in the hearts of the people over the last 4 decades.  Describing his return to the Masoom sequel, Jugal expressed it’s a very personal moment and coming back to the new film feels like a Life coming full circle. 


Masoom: The Next Generation will explore on family relationships, changing dynamics between generations. The ensemble cast will include the earlier stalwarts such as Naseeruddin Shah, Shabana Azmi, Jugal Hansraj alongside with new star cast as Manoj Bajpayee, Nithya Menen and Kaveri Kapur. 


Adding further excitement is the music which is featured by Academy Award winning composer A R Rahman who is also the co-producer of the film with a blend of nostalgia with the new generation story, Masoom: The Next Generation aims to forward the emotional legacy will carry on the legacy of being a beloved film.
