In the 15 years of his career in films, Rajkummar Rao says the roles he essays relate to his life. Currently promoting his upcoming film, a romantic comedy ‘Bhool Chuk Maaf’ is directed by Karan Sharma.  Rajkummar Rao is co-starring with actress Wamiqa Gabbi.


Actor Rajkummar Rao has portrayed small-town characters in films such as ‘Kai Po Che’, ‘Citylights’, ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’, ‘Newton’ and ‘Stree’ said the characters he portrays often come naturally to him as he has lived that life of a small-town man!


Bhool Chuk Maaf Brings a Banarasi Twist to Destiny


Bhool Chuk Maaf hit the headlines, is shot on the sets of Varanasi is about a romantic boy Ranjan from Banaras, essayed by Rajkummar Rao. He is eagerly waiting for his wedding day with his girlfriend Titli. However prior to his marriage, he finds himself stuck in a time loop and cannot marry until he fulfils his promise and vow to Lord Shiva. A hilarious and unique concept on love and fate and as the film unfolds to unexpected confusions. The actor expressed that the film is a comedy and it’s not as easy as it requires a specialised form of art.



  

Actress Wamiqa Gabbi, known for her shows and films such as ‘Jubilee’, Khufiya’ and ‘Baby John’, felt connected with her character Titli opposite Rajkummar Rao. Rajkummar felt that people love such films and his character will be loved by the audience and fans.


Director Karan Sharma expressed that Rajkummar Rao and Gabbi have are not only great actors but also great human beings. The film is produced by Dinesh Vijan under his banner Maddock Films. Bhool Chuk Maaf will be released on Amazon Prime Video after its release in the theatres on May 9th 2025. The trailer was recently launched in Mumbai.
