Despite its intense action and violence in Dhurandhar series, it is Ranveer Singh’s comic moments that surprised the audience. Many of which went viral online.   Actor Rakesh Bedi revealed that the humor was his idea along with the director Aditya Dhar who was initially hesitant to include a little comedy in the spy thriller. However, the actor addressed the long-standing claims that the Dhurandhar script came from the Prime Minister’s office. 

Rakesh Bedi has found a renewed popularity after his performance in Dhurandhar Franchise.  

On Wednesday last, Rakesh attended the Amrit Ratna 2026 summit in New Delhi . He opened up about his role in the blockbuster film Dhurandhar franchise. He revealed that Aditya Dhar was reluctant to incorporate the comic moments in the spy thriller but he felt it would bring a twist to the narrative.  

The veteran actor essayed the role of an Indian agent Jameel Jamali who becomes a politician in Pakistan after being sent to infiltrate the country’s political establishment.  He acted as an Indian agent who is kept under wraps until the climax of the film , which made the film’s biggest surprise.  Rakesh Bedi admits he was aware of the character he was going to essay which is the ultimate fate and the twist from the beginning in the Dhurandhar film. 

He said his mind leans towards comedy and humor and he could visualize where certain sprinkle of comic relief is required in a very intense action octane narratives which creates tense and intense moments. He felt as an actor the natural gravitate towards comedy might just help.  Filmmaker Dhar was initially hesitant but he started enjoying it too said the veteran comedian actor Bedi. 

Addressing the rumors of the script that came from Prime Minister’s office. 

The actor referred about it while he spoke on Dhurandhar Franchise, that when the film became a super hit, some people had claimed that the script came from PMO but he questioned who from the PMO could possibly write. No one could even think of something like this.  While  the films are praised for its narrative, many complained that the film also seemed to have glorified the PMO administration while downplaying the achievements of the previous governments. 

Dhurandhar as released in December 2025 and the Dhurandhar 2 was released in Marchi this year.  Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi , Danish Pandor and Gaurav Gera were the past of the two films. The first film had grossed over 1307 crore world wide while the Dhurandhar Part 2 grossed at a whooping 1790 crore worldwide. 

The film tells the story of Jaskirat Singh Rangi alias Hamza Ali Mazari sent to Lyari in Pakistan to bring down the terror unit. He infiltrates the Baloch gang and marries the daughter of Lyari politician and integrates into the society to do his mission.  Both films are still streaming worldwide creating headlines news every few days .
