Maatrubhumi Action director Aejaz Gulab has received a lot of accolades for his work in Dhurandhar:The Revenge . He began his career as an assisting action director in 1989 and went on to become a full fledged action director for the 200 film Shootout At Lokandwala. It was directed by Apoorva Lakhia who is now gearing up for his next film, Maatrubhumi. Starring Salman Khan. Aejaz Gulab is also a part of the upcoming war drama .
Both Aejaz and Apoorva assisted in Lagaan in 2001 . They worked together in films like Ek Ajnabee in 2005, Shootout At Lokhandwala in 2007 and Haseena Parkar in 2017 . Aejaz Gulab expressed , the kind of rapport he has with Mohit Suri, he also has it with Apoorva and he was very happy to know the film he will be doing is , with superstar Salman khan.
It has been a dream for Apoorva Lakhia to work with Salman Khan and finally with Maatrubhumi things are falling in place finally and have worked out well. Aejaz Gulab has worked with Salman Khan a few times in the beginning of his career in films like Veergati in 1995, Judwaa in 1997, Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega in 2000 , God Tussi Great Ho in 2008. He has also been Salman Khan’s body double several times.
Aejaz confessed he was working with Salman Khan after a very long time. He was working in South Indian action zone and that his work is related to real action .He also mentioned that he began the trend of one-shot takes with his film Ek Villain in 2014 featuring Sidharth Malhotra in a boat. He was asked by Raj-DK if he could have a long action scene without cuts and it happened in Season 1 of The Family Man which was successful. Since then Aejaz has always tried to complete it with single shot action scene. He has also attempted in Bengali films which was much appreciated and loved.
Maatrubhumi’s additional shots will be taking place soon and the makers have added few more songs therefore the songs have to be shot and introduce some scenes with some additional characters in the film.
Aejaz’s other exciting upcoming film is Awarapan 2. The action would be in a realistic zone .
