Police officer Amar, played by Akshay Kumar, has been living life dangerously, especially after he was removed from police duty for attacking a man with a knife. He is then assigned the job by the Mumbai police commissioner to locate the killer of businessman Khanna. Amar is horrified to know that the real culprit is his childhood buddy Raja. He later is horrified to know that his other friends Jaggu and Surya have also joined the mafia don Lala Roshan’s gang. He then uses his friendship as a bait and joins the gang himself. He then falls in love with childhood sweetheart Pooja all over again. She is Surya’s sister. Amar promises Pooja that he will reform his brother and his friends soon.

 

Amar then pretends to shoot a police inspector  on the behest of the gang to prove his worth in the gang and they are convinced. Soon Amar gets all his friends in confidence and kills Lala Roshan. Raja and Jaggu get jailed but sadly Surya gets killed. The movie is directed by Mahesh Bhatt and produced by Ramesh Behl. The star cast includes Nagarjuna, Sonali Bendre, Paresh Rawal, Irfan Kamal, Gulshan Grover, Mohan Kapoor and Razzak Khan. The music is composed by Adesh Shrivastava and the lyrics are written by Javed Akhtar.
