Released on the 28th of July 2017, Mubarakan is a romantic comedy film directed by Anees Bazmee and is produced by Murad Khetani and Ashwin Varde for Sony Pictures Networks.
The film features the uncle-nephew team, Anil Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor in the pivotal double role along with Ileana Dcruz and Athiya Shetty  in the love angle.
The story is about twin boys whose parents die in car crash. The paternal uncle Kartar Singh Bajwa ( Anil Kapoor) who takes charge of the children is unmarried and is happy-go-lucky single living in London.  He decides to give the twins for adoption. He gives one to his sister Arshveer Jeeto Kaur (Ratna Pathak) who lives in London and one to his brother Baldev Singh Bajwa (Pavan Malhotra) who lives in Punjab.
The story unfolds with years rolling by as the twins grow up, fall in love and their eccentric uncle helps the twins to marry the women of their choice. Both the boys orphaned at a young age and raised apart in a different surrounding and culture come together. Though Karan and Charan are identical brothers but their personalities are completely different. Karan who grows up in London is street-smart, manipulative and flashy while Charan is a simple boy who is principled and honest in his approach and dealings.  Their characters are loud, the bright settings, loud music and the climax has nothing great to offer. The film did not do well at the box office and failed to mark up. Music for the film is by Ammal Malik , Gourov Roshin and Rishi Rich.
