Om Prakash, played by Shahrukh Khan, works as a junior artist in films and is in love with top actress Shantipriya, played by Deepika Padukone. He tries to get her attention but fails. However, one day on the set that she is working on, catches fire and he rescues her. She is indebted to him and they become friends. Before he can tell her that he loves her, he comes to know that she is in love with film producer Mukesh, played by Arjun Rampal and is pregnant with his child. A heart broken Om gets away from them but one day Shantipriya is locked inside the RC studios by Mukesh who plans to kill her and sets the studio on fire. Unable to help her she dies and Om dies in a car accident.
Years later, Om gets reborn as Om Kapoor in a wealthy producer’s house. He is a big star but not interested much in acting or working hard. When he goes to RC studio one day he gets flashes of what happened 30 years ago. He gets his memory back and sees his past life. He then vows to take revenge from Mukesh for killing his lady love Shantipriya. He meanwhile finds a look-a-like of Shantipriya called Sandy. They hatch a plan to scare Mukesh. The plan works but he eventually comes to know that this is not the real Shantipriya. Mukesh gets killed in the same studio after a giant chandelier falls on his head.
The movie is directed by Farah Khan and produced by Red Chillies entertainment. The music is composed by Vishal Shekhar.
