Rajkummar Rao gears up as for the former cricketer Sourav Ganguly, the buzz sparks off with R. Madhavan, Shraddha Kapoor and Dhanush bringing the extra ordinary lives of India’s famous icons to the big screen.


G.D. N – Biopic on G.D. Naidu


R. Madhavan to play the titular role as the legendary G.D Naidu, known as the Edison of India. Directed by Krishnakumar Ramakumar the chronicle is a biography of Naidu’s ground breaking contributions to the science and technology and for his public service. It will highlight the lasting impact he had on India’s industrial history. Alongside of R. Madhavan are also Jayaram Sathyaraj, Priyamani and Dushara Vijayan who will feature in the biopic.


Eetha – Queen of Tamasha, Vithabai


Shraddha Kapoor makes her return to the big screen after the two-year hiatus, as she stars in the biopic role of legendary Marathi Folk Artist Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar. She is widely celebrated as the Queen of Tamasha and Lavani. The film highlights the life of Vithabai’s struggles and her dedication to preserve the Maharashtrian folk art. A story directed by Laxman Utekar is inspiring as it showcases Vithabai’s determination to perform on the stage shortly after giving birth to her child. Slated for its release in theatres on August 28th. 2026.


Prahaar: The Ujjawal Nikam Story 


Rajkummar Rao in the lead role starring in the film Prahaar: The Ujjawal Nikam Story, the chronicle is extraordinary journey of the renowned Indian public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam story. It follows his most significant courtroom battles with a particular focus on the landmark prosecution of 26/11 Mumbai attacker by terrorist Ajmal Kasab. Directed by Avinash Arun, the biographical drama stars Wamiqa Gabbi, Jaideep Ahlawat and Sikandar Kher in pivotal roles. Slated for its release in the theatres on August 7th 2026.


White - Biopic on Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar


Vikrant Massey steps into the shoes of the spiritual leader Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar in an international thriller project. Directed by Montoo Bassi and backed by Siddharth Anand, the film White is inspired by the untold story of how the spiritual leader played a key role in helping end a Colombia’s 52 year long civil war with his efforts and dialogues of peace building. The film is expected to be released in theatres sometime in the later half of this year.




Kalam: The Missile Man of India


The biopic on the life of the former President of India and Scientist Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam is now under production. Kalam: The Missile Man of India has Dhanush playing the lead titular role and Om Raut donning the director’s hat, the film traces back Kalam’s remarkable journey of his rise from humble beginnings to becoming the most celebrated Missile Man of India and eventually becoming the nation’s pride and the 11th President. The biopic on Kalam, draws inspiration from his bestselling memoir Wings of Fire. The film is expected for its release later this year.


V Shantaram


Siddhant Chaturvedi playing the lead role in the film chronicles V Shantaram’s remarkable journey. The legendary filmmaker Shanta Rajaram Vankudre is one of the pioneers of Indian cinema. Written and directed by Abhijeet Shirish Deshpande, the film on V. Shantaram traces his journey from the silent film era to the evolution of sound and colour. The film also features Tamannah Bhatia in a pivotal role. 


Maa Vande


Chronicling the life and the journey of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the upcoming biographical drama explores his journey with his early life, the advent of his political career and the experiences he went through in shaping to become the national leader of the country. Directed by Kranthi Kumar CH, Maa Vande features Unni Mukundan in the lead role. An official release and more details of the film is yet to be announced.


Rakesh Maria Biopic


Yet another to be titled project is based on the life of former Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria. The film will explore his career and investigations across his major cases including the 1993 Mumbai blasts on 26/11 attacks. Starring John Abraham and Tamannaa Bhatia in the lead roles, the film is expected to arrive in the theatres around end of the year.




Illaiyaraaja


Based on the legendary music composer Illaiyaraaja, the film stars Dhanush in the lead role. The biopic drama explores the journey from a small village in Tamil Nadu to Chennai, highlighting the struggles he went through before the rise to become the musical icon and winning the prestigious civilian honors like the Padma Bhushan and the Padma Vibhushan. The release date of the film is yet to be confirmed by the makers.


The other biopics are on the lives of cricketer Yuvraj Singh, legendary actor Parveen Babi, Madhubala and Meena Kumari which are in the pipeline and have also been announced simultaneously. However the dates and release dates are yet be revealed.
