The Ministry of Information and Broadcast has collaborated with the filmmaker, Sanjay Leela Bhansali to present a special tableau that is dedicated to Indian cinema at the Republic Day Parade to be held on 26th January 2026 in New Delhi.  The tableau is to showcase the cultural richness, the creative excellence and the global influence of Indian cinema. Indian cinema serves as a strong ambassador of India’s stories and values across the world. 

What makes this grand event more historical is Sanjay Leela Bhansali comes forward as the face of Indian cinema at the parade for the first time that an Indian Film director/ producer has been accorded with this honour. This marks the milestone and redefining not just the film industry but also the Indian culture at large. 

For the first time ever a true flag bearer will mark the illustrious Indian cinema at the Republic Day Parade. This will further set to create a strong national momentum and truly there is no better person to represent this grand moment than Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
