Dulquer is predominantly a star who worked in Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu films before he joined the Hindi films.

After a three months acting course at the Barry John Acting Studio, he did his first film in an action drama film Second Show in 2012 for which he received the Filmfare Award for the Best Male Debut.

He also acted in the film Ustad Hotel in 2012 for which he was nominated for the Filmfare Best Actor Award.

After the commercial success of the film ABCD: American Born Confused Desi in 2013, followed by road thriller film in 2013.

For Dulquer Salman acting or the film industry has never been new He has won several awards for from the Kerala Filmfare Award for best actor, Best Actor Male Debut in South Filmfare Awards. He has won the Vijay Award for Best Debut Actor and Asianet Golden Star Award, He also won the Asianet Film Award for Youth icon of the Year and Asianet’s Film Award for the Best New Face of the year(Male) and the IIFA Award for his leading role in a Malayalam Film.

Salman has been a regular feature in the Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu films and made his debut in the Hindi Film, Karwaan opposite Mithila Palkar and Irrfan Khan , the film that is about 3 lost souls on a road trip . The film was directed by Akash Khurana and was released in August 2018.  Dulquer’s character was Avinash in the film and with this film Mithila Palkar also made her debut in the Bollywood.

His actor father Mammootty was involved in him getting into Bollywood and had several meetings with the producer and director before he was launched in this first Bollywood film.  Mammootty though a busy South star with lot of his own commitments left no stone unturned to ensure his son’s debut in Hindi cinema. “

He has now signed for the Hindi film The Zoya Factor. The story revolves around the 2010 Cricket World Cup and Dulquer who plays the role of Nikhil the Captain of the Indian Cricket Team. The film is to be released in June 2019 and is currently in the Post production stages.  

He did a road campaign film for Kerala Motor Vehicle Department for safe driving.
