She then went on to become the sixth Indian to be crowned Miss World after 17 years. She was also crowned Miss Photogenic during the Miss World competition. Manushi was selected among the top 15 semifinalists after filmmaker Karan Johar asked the question, ‘The Government of India considers a ban on surrogacy in India. She had started her first leg of the Beauty with a Purpose tour with the continental winners. The campaign continued in different parts of India as well.
