Urvashi entered the entertainment industry when she was very young she made her debut as a child artist in a television commercial for Lux Soap and later appeared in the television series, Shrikant. In her teenage years she had begun gaining significant opportunities and she appeared in the popular shows like Dekh Bhai Dekh in 1993 as Shilpa showcasing hr comedic timing with her relatable charm that she has.

Urvashi rose to stardom in 2001 when she essayed the role of Komolika Majumdar in Ekta Kapoor’s Kasauti Zindgaii Kay. In the serial Urvashi has portrayed a very stylish scheming and sharp-witted antagonist, that we define as a vamp on Indian Television. From her elaborate bindis to sarees, Kamolika became a cultural phenomenon which earned Urvashi several awards and cemented her position as one of the most sought after actress on the Indian television.

Urvashi Dholakia’s popularity rose so much she extended from television to Reality TV and then later to new projects. She participated in the sixth season of reality big show called the Big Boss in 2013. Her straightforward personality resonated with the audience which led her to become the winner of the season.

Urvashi as an actress has continued to experiment with her roles with various genre that included films with fantasy and supernatural wherein, she played the role of Queen Iravati in Chandrakanta. She competed in Nach Baliye 9 with Anu Sachdeva and appeared in the sixth season of the hit franchise Nagin. Whether she is playing a beloved or a protagonist or a villain in the film her ability to convey to the screen ensures she remains as one of the most loved actress and most enduring in the Indian entertainment.

Urvashi won the Indian Telly Award for the Best Actress in a Negative Role and also in the ITA Award for the Best Actress in a Negative Role which she won for five times. Urvash has been in the top list of the most popular actresses on the Indian television and has achieved a lot. Her success and her great performances were Ekta Kapoor’s Ghar Ek Mandir, Kabhi Sautan Kabhi Saheli and Kahiin Toh Hogo besides Kasauti Zindagii Kay.
