Between 1989 and 1992, Atul Kulkarni had won many awards for acting as well as for drama direction. He had enacted in the play ‘Gandhi Viruddh Gandhi’, the play was remade in Marathi thereafter had become famous by Dilip Prabhavalkar. Atul Kulkarni after he had joined the Hindi movies is remembered for his strong role in the film Rang De Basanti in 2006 which was almost in par with the main actor Aamir Khan. He has had acted in many acclaimed films such as Hey Ram in 2000, Chandni Bar in 2001, Page 3 in 2005, Natarang in 2010, Jazbaa in 2015.

He won the Best Supporting Actor Award for his role in Hey Ram and Chandni Bar. Career & Achievements

Atul Kulkarni completed his 10 th std from Haribhai Devkaran High School. Atul is a pass out from the National School of Drama. The actor had no plans of joining a film industry and becoming an actor. He did his engineering degree from a prestigious College of Engineering Pune. He had left his study in engineering in Pune while he was in the first year of his college, when he decided to quit and shift to Solapur to study literature. It was during this period that he got an opportunity to enact in a stage play and that was the beginning and his first exposure to the theatre. Atul joined an amateur theatre group and as he liked the theatre, he decided to get a formal education and training in the field of drama and acting. He came to Mumbai like any other aspiring star in the year 1995 after he had received his diplomat in acting from the National School of Drama, New Delhi in 1995 and holds a post-graduation diploma in dramatic arts Once he had landed in Mumbai there was no turning back for the actor.
