On February 20, attendees of the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2023 in Mumbai included actors from various film industries. A number of well-known Bollywood stars, including Alia Bhatt, Rekha, Varun Dhawan, Anupam Kher, Ronit Roy, Shreyas Talpade, and R Balki, arrived for the event. When they ran into each other on the red carpet, Rekha and Alia shared a precious moment. The veteran actor gave Alia a kiss on the cheek, and the two of them posed for the cameras. Ranbir Kapoor won the Best Actor award for Brahmastra Part One – Shiva, and Alia won the Best Actress award for Gangubai Kathiawadi.

The film Kantara's actor-director Rishab Shetty won the award for Most Promising Actor. The Kashmir Files won the Best Film Award, and RRR was named the year's best film. For her Outstanding Contribution to the Film Industry, Rekha received an award.
