Arjun Chakrabarty

Arjun Chakrabarty known for his portrayal of the character Gora in the Bengali musical television series, Gaaner Oparey alongside his brother Gaurav which was aired on Star Jalsha. 

In 2000 Arjun Chakrabarty began his journey in the entertainment industry as a child artist in Satyajitter Priyo Golpo on DD Bangla. 

Arjun Chakrabarty had debuted on the big screen in Bapi Bari Jaa in 2012 with Sudeshna Roy and Abhijit Guha.

Chakrabarty is known for acting in Bengali drama comedy television series call Jamai Raja which was aired in 2017-2018 in which he essays the lead role of Ishan Chatterjee.

He was voted as the 10th Most Desirable Men in 2015, 2019 and in 2020 by Calcutta Times.

At the start of his career in films he mostly appeared in not much significant roles hence had not achieved commercial success except for the film Chirodini Tumi Je Amar 2 in 2014. In 2018 he further gained popularity with his role as Abir in Guptodoner Sandhane directed by Dhrubo Banerjee. In the same year he had portrayed Satyakam in Byomkesh’s Gotro.

Arjun Chakrabarty has played Apu in Aviiatrik which was one of the iconic characters and his performance was widely appreciated. The film had achieved a moderate commercial success.

Thereafter he has worked in several web series after his debut on OTT Platform with the Hoichoi web series, and The Nightwatchman.

His other notable works included films like Pink, Macher Jhol, Guptodhoner Sandhane, Chirodini Tumi Je Amar 2, X=Prem, Karnasubarner Guptodhon and few others like Shotyi Bole Shotyi Kichhu Nei.

Arjun recent series include the Hindi supernatural drama Noyantara which had premiered on Colors television and JioCinema in mid-2025. He marked his entry in Hindi television with the debut as Dr. Surjo Sengupta. Noyantara is a remake of the Bengali Television series Trinayani, supernatural series that had premiered on June 9th 2025 on Colors television and digitally on JioHotstar. It’s produced by Peninsula Pictures and stars Shruti Bhist alongside Arjun Chakrabarty and Narayani Shastri.
